VIEW OF THE CORNWALL
COAST, c. 1869
As this work is signed 'E.PARSONS', this would indicate that it was painted after she was married on 28 October 1868, and since it is a view of the Cornwall coast, then it was painted before she left for Australia on 19 March 1870.
It is a major early watercolour landscape by this talented artist, and there is something in the subject matter, and in the power and the wildness of the weather captured in this work, that is reminiscent of the works of the great, J.M.W.Turner.
