EAGLEMONT, 1889 This large panoramic work depicts a pastoral scene on the Eaglemont hillside, late one Summer afternoon. Shadows creep across the landscape and a pair of eagles hover overhead. Streeton painted this work from the highest point of The Eyrie, Eaglemont, close to Summit Drive. In the valley directly below, the Yarra River quietly flows through its river flats.
