1857 A pencil drawing by Eugene von Guerard in the Petherick collection, National Library of Australia, related to this scene, is titled 'Mount Macedon from a point between St. Kilda and Brighton'. The work is inscribed 'Melbourne', lower centre of canvas. It was one of a number of seascape works depicting Port Phillip Bay that were produced by Eugene von Guerard soon after his return from the Ballarat goldfields in April 1854.
